Utah Poison Control Center's 2025 Annual Report

2025 was a year of meaningful progress for the Utah Poison Control Center. Every day, our team demonstrates a deep commitment to protecting the health of our state through expertise, compassion, and a genuine connection to the people we serve.

A recent RAND Corporation study affirmed the extraordinary value of poison centers, showing that every dollar invested returns over sixteen dollars in community benefit. This reflects what we see daily: poison centers are essential to public health. UPCC is proud to be one of Utah’s most trusted resources. Also, as an accredited poison center, we are dedicated to rigorous standards, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Our data‑driven work continues to shape safer communities, from tracking emerging substances to addressing long‑standing hazards. And behind every data point is a human story, such as a parent seeking reassurance, a physician needing rapid guidance, a child facing a frightening exposure. These moments highlight the irreplaceable value of real‑time human expertise.

Because we live in the communities we serve, our outreach is grounded in cultural fluency and local understanding. This year’s Utah‑specific education efforts strengthened our connection to the people who rely on us.

As we look ahead, one thing remains clear: the UPCC is not just a service, it is a partnership with Utah. Thank you for trusting us and for allowing us to be part of your community. I hope you enjoy our 2025 annual report.
